not a song... May 3

There was a time when I listened to Ludwig van Beethoven's "Pastorale" (Symphony No. 6) every morning: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWDIwsfgQnE

My favourite symphony is Beethoven's 7th, the fourth movement always put me in an excellent mood, especially in this wonderfully energetic, outstanding, and joyous performance by Carlos Kleiber with the Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam, some 40 years ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Sw97NzvvsE

As for my good-mood-song, it's hands down The Joker https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dV3AziKTBUo. No, I'm neither a smoker, nor – God forbid! – a midnight toker, but I fancy myself a bit of a space cowboy, and a gangster of love, whatever they mean.
This song came up soon after I'd got life-changing news in 1990, and cheered me up no end. Still does.

Bee Gees... May 3

Funny enough, I "discovered" the Bee Gees only in the last months - they were never among my favs, I come more from New Wave, Gothic and the like... The guys had a really interesting evolution and were in the business for around 50 years.

They were already singing on stage when the twins were 6-7 years old, I think, and became famous in the late sixties with songs like this (the twins being 18 and Barry 21): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xk9bmuncB4Q
and this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2sN05AMV9gY

And then there was this literally live saving piece (it is used for getting the rhythm for heart massage) with funny video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_izvAbhExY

I should have been born in the 60s, not the mid-70s:

There are so many songs I adore! May 7

However, this gets the "good-mood" job done pretty diligently and efficiently:

How can that not put you in a good mood?

Is a "good-mood song" one you listen to when you are already in a good mood, or one which you want to put you in a good mood?

More context neede

The latter was meant, but the other option is valid too.
I would also add the clip that was posted in your moths thread too, it is really funny.

Thank you all so much for your tips so far, I didn't know some of them. Great collection in the making!

Flowers Must Die May 15

Despite the band's brilliant name, this is a jaunty little number:

They could've done well with this in Eurovision... if the jury were partial to psychedelics..

I think we all have a few pieces of music that immediately lift our spirits.
For me, the first one that comes to mind is Down under by Men at Work, the unofficial Australian national anthem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XfR9iY5y94s
And yours?

Very good choice, with a little more "edge" this works wonders to lift my spirits (and raise my pulse) on a sh**** day! *hahaha*

My favourite too. Couldn't possibly work to it. The second movement. OMFG.
